Like your words, and the painting, like the reds and orange contrasting on the shades of blue in the background, complementary colors always give a good effect of contrast.
Thank you! I like the words too. It good to remember to deal with disappointments, but I think it’s especially true for the artists. I think many starting artists have doubts if they art is good enough (especially me). Now I just taking it as a learning experience. I also found a magnet with very encouraging words on it “Never apologize for your art”
I have to ask, how did you get your lines like that? Were you using the knife or a brush? I’ve been having problems trying to get my lines so thin and precise with the knife-sometimes it works, others, not. Mind you I am working in oil and wet on wet so that might be part of the challenge )…
I am using acrylics and have no experience with oil paint. In this case It was my experiment with acrylic paint in the 2 oz bottle which has tilted cone-like end. On the label it says ‘writer’. I don’t know how they intended to write with that, because you had to constantly squeeze the bottle, but it worked for the flowers stems. Other times I just use the brush.
Lovely painting, I really like what it says about regrets. It really is true…
Thank you for following my blog and your ‘like’.
